llamas and landscaping

so we had a pretty busy weekend. we finally got to the nursery and got my mother's day tree, which dad and mr. cope planted (with lots of sun protection of course!) it's a forest pansy redbud and i love it!




we also planted 2 other trees... a mexican redbud and an anacacho orchid tree. the deer, however, are trying feverishly to undo all our hard work. they nibbled one of my trees before i got it protected with a cage. here are some of the neighborhood culprits.

big cope could care less one way or the other about the trees, but he sure does love his llama. it's just the right size for chewing and slobbering on.. so the deer nibble my trees and cope nibbles the llama. i guess that's about as close to even as we can get.

mr. fella's busy week as a 3 mth old

my buddy turned 3 months old recently. he is loving all his new-found body parts and he's really an active little guy. he's been busy being a good little man this week, but somehow managed to fit in some play time. he and dad have been practicing rolling over (with dad's "spot"), and i bet he'll be doing it like a pro in no time. dad tells him not to be embarassed about needing a spot because even the strongest guy in the gym needs a spot every once in a while. dad thinks cope is going to be a baseball player because of the way he thrashes his toys and bats at his toy bars.. i guess we'll just have to wait and see!

triple threat

so mr. cope pulled the triple threat on us this afternoon... normally i pull out 4 wipees for a foof. 5 if it's a really bad one. today mr. cope had a 7 wipee foof. daddy had to hold mr. cope's hands while mom cleaned him up because he had foof all the way up above his belly button and sooo wanted to get his paws in it. that was threat 1. so after the 7 wipees, we proceeded to strip cope down and get him ready for a bath. somewhere in the 3 steps between the bedroom and the bathroom, cope proceeded to spit up on mom. so went threat #2. as mom laid cope down on the yellow bear sponge to wipe off the spit up so we could put him in the tub, he peed all over me! threat #3.. all within the course of about 3 minutes. we laughed and laughed about it! mr. cope has a great sense of humor when it comes to his excretions. we'll spare you any pictures of this, but hope you enjoy these.

mothers day weekend

so daddy, cope and i loaded up on another airplane this weekend to go to the wedding of one of my best friends near st. louis. this is the same friend who made my mother's day present, a cool necklace with cope's name on it... you can check her jewelry out here...she is super talented.

cope's grandma and aunt carol came to watch mr. cope during the festivities, and cope got to meet some of mom's best friends, which was awesome. he had a great time with his family!! cope was a great passenger as usual and all the ladies oohed and aahed over him. we flew back on sunday (mother's day) so cope wore his "my mom is the bomb" shirt, which up until that day, he had only worn for about 5 minutes at a time before he promptly would spit up on it. i was beginning to think that maybe he didn't believe i was the bomb, but on mother's day, he wore it for the long haul. we are also planning to plant a tree in honor of mr. cope for mother's day, but we still can't decide what kind. we'll post pics when we get it done! being a mom is the best. mother's day is my new favorite.

our busy week

our week started as usual with dad and cope going to work..

we hang out a lot after work together around the house..
on thursday mama got off work a little early so she went to pick up cope..this is his co-worker slash girlfriend alexa. she always helps to buckle cope in after work and gives him un besito.. she says "el bebe!" "el bebe!"



thursday night cope had his buddies nick and even over for a barbeque. their parents came too. cope isn't quite big enough to hang with them, but i feel like he will catch up quickly.. mr. cope is a busy guy!
