my sweet sweet little man has had a runny nose since the day of his big birthday bash. the next day he started with a little cough and some congestion. yesterday his boss lady ms. diana said she took his temp and it was 101 axillary but that he was playing and otherwise feeling fine. last night my pal coughed through the night, woke up really snotty and congested and was coughing stuff up. his temp was 102.2 and he was not feeling good at all. we went to see dr. brister on the poor little guy's birthday and she made him get saline squirted up his nose then sucked out with a garden hose; she looked in his ears and poked a stick in the back of his throat. here he is coughing at her office.
in general he was feeling pretty crummy on his birthday.. we have a working diagnosis of influenza B, lab tests pending. dad skipped out on work to stay home and take care of our best pal. he did an awesome job... they played with balls and read all the books in the house four or five times. daddy gave cope some pedialyte and they watched elmo in grouchland which is the only tv watching that mom has ever sanctioned.
my buddy is still not feeling 100% and in general had a pretty yucky birthday. despite feeling terrible, he still tries his hardest to be the best little boy in the universe, and is very successful at it.. we'll keep you posted, but my pal should be feeling better in a few days.
