tricks!

my fella has sooo many new tricks! He wants to crawl everywhere. He says dada, he dances, and his absolute favorite is to pull up in his crib.

He does it so much that we have to bathe him in the sink because he can’t get away when he’s in there!
It’s amazing how fast he progresses.. a few days ago he figured it out, and now he does it over and over and over and over again. Especially when he is supposed to be sleeping. He does it until he is so tired that he falls over for one last time and falls to his side and goes to sleep immediately. Needless to say, it used to take us 10 to 20 minutes to fall asleep. Now it takes us an hour and 10 to 20 minutes. He also got his very first deer this weekend! And with a bow no less! Ok.. well maybe dad got it. But it was the first deer cope got his picture taken with. I don’t know how much he really cared about it, but dad is pretty sure he’ll love it in a few years. We’ll keep you posted.

up up and over

2 weeks ago, i had a baby who pretty much stayed where you put him. he was rebellious, yes, but in hair do choice only. other than that, he minded his mama and daddy pretty well.. fast forward..

first my pal learned to sit up all by himself so i would find him in the crib like this..
then a few days ago i put him in the floor and caught him trying to pull up.. crazy baby.. he's only 7 months old. so i said "hey you, crazy baby...you can't pull up yet. just work on the crawling all over that you have just mastered".
so then today, he was in his crib and i was laying on the bed 5 feet away and i look over and he is standing on his feet, preparing to scale the wall and take off to nana's house i guess. he has also acquired his first boo boo, a barely perceptible little bruise on his forehead. i guess this is from practicing pulling up in the corner of his crib. i say that it is barely perceptible only because i couldn't get a good picture of it!
so here is our answer to the new problem, but i'm sure cope will find a way to get out of this too!

vacation!

my pal had a great vacation last week. dad went elk hunting in colorado (no elk but he had a great time), so momma and mr. big britchens went on a trip. here is my pal when mom found him for the first time sitting on his bottom when he got there all by himself!

here he is with his new best pal his cousin atticus.

he also met his great grandma who he thought was pretty neat.

he loved his grandpa because he made cope laugh just like dad does and he was missing his dad!

he met his aunties sarah and maggie and grace...

and he loved his visit in chicago! aunt mel is just in love with cope and they played so much!
he also loved his cousin sadie and uncle mark who unfortunately escaped the camera...

and cousins eli, lucas and sam were so hospitable. they shared all of their toys, their love, and their momma with mr. cope! i think eli may have been a touch jealous, but he loved on "baby coke-a-la" the whole visit. mr. cope was worn out, but he had a blast and can't wait to see his family again.

practice makes perfect

we had a great week.. mr. cope is getting very good at sitting up

he's now a pro at eating

and he's working on the crawl!

this weekend he helped dad get ready for the upcoming elk trip. we went to cabela's and cope was just about as thrilled as i was about it!
he did enjoy helping dad get his things together for the trip though. he thought everything was a brand new toy just for him.

cope also had his first college football weekend. he wore his georgia outfit and a diaper hat to cheer the bulldogs to victory! he is learning so much and is practicing hard at all of his tricks!
