daddy and cope

cope's best buddy is definitely his dad. they had such a good weekend together.
on the weekends, after cope wakes up at his regular time (6: 30ish), i always try to get him to fall back to sleep for a little while longer.. he wasn't having it on saturday! he just wanted to play. saturday night we went to a nice restaurant for dinner and mr. cope was a perfect gentleman. nobody even knew he was there.

after dinner we went to aleksa's dora birthday party. she is the granddaughter of cope's boss lady, and she is also cope's girlfriend. she gives him a big fat kiss everytime she sees him. the other little guy is luke. he is also cope's coworker. since mr. cope was too little to whack at the pinata, dad took to it for him!

all in all i think i have a pretty happy, thankfully healthy little guy and we just love him! i think he loves us too, especially his daddy..

6 months old!

i can't believe my best pal is 6 months old.

he is so grown up it breaks my heart. he sits up. he eats big boy food. he has a new tank-friendly car seat. he has opinions. everybody keeps telling me that it just gets better and better because the older they get the more fun they are because they have new tricks.

lies! yes, i guess it's fun when he has new tricks but i feel like i'm just one day closer to him not being my baby anymore. i would not be surprised at all if i woke up tomorrow and went in to find him ready to fly the coop.

we went to the doctor yesterday and my pal weighs 18 pounds and is 27 and 1/4 inches long. he really is a tank! he was such a good boy while he got his shots. it drives dad crazy. he can hardly stand to be in the room when he gets them. i think it's harder on dad than it is on cope.

i guess all i can do is thank God every day for every minute that i get to spend with my little guy and try my hardest to burn these moments into my memory. it's been the best 6 months of my life.

we love weekends

around our house, we love the weekends. we have what i like to call "mommy and cope day" all day on saturday and then again on sunday. we play all day long! i miss my pal so much during the week because i only get to see him a few hours a day because he needs his beauty sleep.


this weekend we went to our friend chelcy and deakon's house for a bbq. we also went to babies are us because my little tankers is getting to be a big boy and he needs a bigger car seat (which is the subject of another blog altogether).. here he is trying them out.

3 weekends ago daddy did a little triathalon here in georgetown with some of his buddies and mr. cope and i played at the lake while they finished up. then we met dad and his pals. mr. cope had a great time.






last weekend we went for a long walk on the trail that runs along the river downtown. when we were getting back my little fella saw his first armadillo...but i think my buddy was actually too busy eating his toes!













although all our adventures are a blast, if the truth be known i'd just as soon stay at home with my little pal so i could have him all to myself. he fell asleep in my arms tonight while i rocked him and just like i do every night, i asked him not to grow while he sleeps.. but every morning, he is bigger, and i'm pretty sure he will be bigger in the morning despite my request!

my pal loves to be a helper. he helps get his clothes dirty with food..

he helps by wearing 2 or 3 outfits a day..

and occasionally he helps fold.. he is such a good boy!

vegas crawling and green beans

we had a long weekend! we went to vegas to see uncle ben and his lovely bride zuilma get married.

cope's great aunt nancy and his great grandmother came to visit mr. cope too. they had a great time together..

he and aunt nancy had a sleep over while grandmother, steve and i went to the wedding and they are big buddies now. nancy was always steve's favorite person to hang out with when he was a kid and nancy is winning over cope too.

mr. cope is trying to start crawling. he will get up on his knees and rock forward (and backward!) until he moves a little further toward his goal..this is mr. cope and green beans.. he doesn't really like them and we tried them again last night and he cried real tears about it.. he is starting to get a little opinionated! other than that, he loves all foods, especially mango. i think i'll put the green beans aside for a while!
